The lost man and the compass of the Holy Spirit
Have you ever lost your way in the dark of night or in a storm? Or in a big and bustling city where you have just arrived and you only have the address in your hand, but you don't know how to find that address? Have you been in a wide desert where you don't know where to go? Those who have gone to the military have learned how to use navigation tools in the desert. Or find their way through the stars at night when the sky is clear.
We live in a world that is vast and very crowded, and we always need a guide to travel or move. In the old days, when there were no highways between cities, traveling was difficult. People used to travel through unmarked roads and often got lost or were attacked by bandits and thieves and sometimes lost their lives.
Today, with the advancement of industry, highways are built between cities and there are road signs to guide travelers. In addition, electronic compasses have made traveling easier with the help of satellites. Interestingly, we have complete trust in these highways and electronic tools to take us to our destination and we rarely question the builder of the highway and guidance tools.
Let's look at our own lives. We all were born one day and one day we will leave this world whether we like it or not. Is our destination clear? Do we know the way? Is there a guide to show us the way? If we know the way and guide, can we fully trust it? Different religions and rituals came and went and will continue to come and they claim that they are from God and bring man to God. They are constantly fighting with each other about which is right and which is wrong.
Some like the Jewish religion, which received the Ten Commandments from God, and the Jewish leaders added many laws to it to make people's lives difficult and to control them, and as a result, the Jewish people slipped and went astray and were rejected by God. They were punished and displaced and wandered. after that . The religion of Islam has taken the same Jewish laws, twisted them and changed its name, that this is the last religion and there is no question about it anymore, and they force people to obey and do so by creating fear and social pressure. They keep people under their control. Although both religions are trying to reach God, none of them believed in the path provided by God and they still pray to be guided to the right path. That is, in their daily prayers, they admit that they are walking on a crooked path and are looking for someone to guide them to the right path. As a result, both religions, along with other absurd religions, are still trapped in pure darkness and are looking for a way and a light to continue on their path.
In the book on John, chapter 14, verses 6-11, he says:
6 Jesus said to him, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 6 If you knew me, you would also know my Father, and after this you will know him and have seen him. 8 Philip said to him, Lord, show us the Father, who is sufficient for us. 9 Jesus said to him, Philip, I have been with you all this time, have you not known me? He who has seen me has seen the Father. So how do you say show us the Father? 10 Don't you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you, I do not speak of myself, but the Father who dwells in me, he does these things. 11 Acknowledge me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, acknowledge me because of those deeds.
Jesus Christ, who was born of the Spirit of God, came to show the way to the lost on earth, because he is the way. And in John chapter 8 verse 12 he says:
So Jesus addressed them again and said, I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will find the light of life.
A person lost in the darkness of the world needs a guiding light and a way and trust in that way and light to come out of the darkness and walk on the right path, and all these characteristics are found in Jesus Christ. And again in John chapter 14 verses 15-18 we read:
15 If you love me, keep my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another comforter to remain with us forever, 17 that is, the true Spirit, whom the world cannot receive because it does not see him and does not know him, but you know him, because he remains with you and It will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans, I will come to you.
So let's believe in Jesus, the Lord, because he is the way, the truth, the life, and the light of the world, who not only forgave our sins, but reconciled us to God himself so that we can be called God's children. And the Holy Spirit of God guides us like a daily compass so that we don't get lost anymore.
